Stefano Abedum de Lima Hanzawa
Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne
I am a student at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) pursuing my Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management. My past experiences have shown me that the hospitality industry is not just about selling a product, it is about ensuring a guest experience that will transform into a treasured memory. It is rewarding to create perfect experiences, and I laid witness to many examples of excellence in service during my time in Buckingham Palace. Going back in time, my summer internship at the Park Hyatt Tokyo (2015) took place in an open kitchen which required composure under high-stress situations. In addition, my time housekeeping at the Aman Tokyo (2016) has taught me how to be one step ahead of the guest(s) and to always anticipate their needs. I have completed a summer internship of three months at the Four Seasons Maldives (2018) and assisted in the completion of their EarthCheck Evaluate Assessment of which I learned the utmost importance of accountability and transparency. Lastly, I completed an incredible 7-month internship with Rosewood Hotel Group in Design & Project Services and Sustainability, understanding how designs, professional servicescapes, and sustainability come together on a corporate level. Through my time here at EHL, I have developed an interest in sustainability and its role in hospitality. Sustainable tourism is so important and I am now excited as to what changes I could bring to the table.
