Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Michael was CEO of Kerzner International, owner of Atlantis, a brand that creates new Entertainment Destinations, One and Only Beach, Nature, Urban Resorts and Private Homes, and Mazagan.

Prior to that, President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, with responsibility for Europe, Africa & the Middle East, driving growth, directly overseeing the operations for over 270 hotels in 60 countries with 50,000 associates with revenues of $4.6b. Renowned for building winning teams and cultures, with a laser focus on our customers service and operational efficiency. Additionally, through working with UNICEF and the IHEI we have been able to support our communities and environmental initiatives.


Previously, Senior Vice President for Starwood's Western Europe Region.

Operational lead for the acquisition of Le Meridien Hotels and subsequently led the integration of Le Méridien, following Starwood’s acquisition of the brand in 2005

Passionate about growing the footprint and focused on the development of talent, led the creation of the Vita Futura, an innovative graduate training programme which has helped shape the careers of hundreds of young leaders throughout the industry.
