The pandemic has had a devastating impact on the over 300 million hectares of protected areas under African government control. The majority of these areas are national parks for which tourism is a significant source of income.
As we start to build back better and rise together, this conversation provides some food for thought on what needs to happen in the short and long term to protect Africa's wildlife and the communities which rely on it for their livelihood.
